Ray Ibrahim reports that the sagacious scholars at Islam’s premier center of learning, the venerable al Azhar University in Egypt, have concluded that the Ground Zero Mosque is — wait for it — a “Zionist conspiracy.” Of course!
Speaking of the Cordoba House project, there’s a much more meaningful way to promote interfaith understanding than Gutfield’s Outfidel gay bar, as hilarious as that is. A mosque named after Cordoba that’s truly devoted to promoting peace and overcoming the legacy of past conflict would include a memorial to the48 Martyrs of Cordoba, murdered in that city during 850s by Muslim authorities who apparently misunderstood the true nature of Islam. Most were beheaded, though at least one was thrown into a cauldron of molten lead. In addition, the new center should have ceremonies of repentance each year on the feast days of those Cordoba martyrs who have them: March 11 for St. Eulogius, April 18 for St. Perfectus, July 11 for St. Abundius, July 27 for Sts. Aurelius and Natalia, Sept. 27 for St. Adolphus, Oct. 19 for St. Laura, and Oct. 22 for Sts. Nunilo and Alodia.
