Eighty Armenian Christians were killed in the Syrian town of Kessab on March 21 by Islamist forces who were supported by Turkey.
As a result of this attack, more than 2,000 Armenian Christians fled from their homes when they were looted and their churches destroyed.
Following this attack by Islamists, the Syrian government began a counter-attack, but Turkey shot down a Syrian jet that had mistakenly strayed across the border into Turkey.
Turkey under Erdogan, has become increasingly Islamist since Obama took office. It has provided Islamists in Syria with supplies and allowed hundreds of terrorists to freely cross its borders.
The Armenian National Committee of America has written to Obama to ask that he call on Turkey to stop funding attacks by foreign fighters inside Syria. Obama considers Erdogan an ally against the Syrian government.
Armenians still remember the pain caused by Turkey from 1894 to 1923, when that nation engaged in a systematic genocide of Armenian Christians. More than 1.5 million Christians were killed in the first major genocide of the 20th century by Islamists who ruled Turkey under the Ottoman Empire.
