Both in the Islamic world and the Western world, Muslims continued to attack and slaughter Christians.
In Pakistan, “A mob accused of burning alive a Christian couple in an industrial kiln in Pakistan allegedly wrapped a pregnant mother in cotton so she would catch fire more easily, according to family members who witnessed the attack,” reported NBC News:
Sajjad Maseeh, 27, and his wife Shama Bibi, 24, were set upon by at least 1,200 people after rumors circulated that they had burned verses from the Quran, family spokesman Javed Maseeh told NBC News via telephone late Thursday. Their legs were also broken so they couldn’t run away.
“They picked them up by their arms and legs and held them over the brick furnace until their clothes caught fire,” he said. “And then they threw them inside the furnace.”
Bibi, a mother of four who was four months pregnant, was wearing an outfit that initially didn’t burn, according to Javed Maseeh. The mob removed her from over the kiln and wrapped her up in cotton to make sure the garments would be set alight.
Discussing this latest atrocity against Pakistan’s Christian minorities, an AFP report states:
Blasphemy is a hugely sensitive issue in the majority Muslim country, with even unproven allegations often prompting mob violence.
Anyone convicted, or even just accused, of insulting Islam, risks a violent and bloody death at the hands of vigilantes.
A Christian woman [Asia Bibi] has been on death row since November 2010 after she was found guilty of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Mohammed during an argument with a Muslim woman.
An elderly British man with severe mental illness, sentenced to death for blasphemy in Pakistan in January, was shot by a prison guard last month.
Two days after the Christian couple were burned alive, a policeman in Pakistan hacked a man to death for allegedly making blasphemous remarks against Islam.
Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti, President of the Pakistan Christian Congress, wrote a letter to U.S. President Obama expressing surprise that the U.S. did not even bother to condemn the crime against the murdered Christian couple:
It is surprising that neither US Administration under your honor nor US State Department even bothered to condemn this horrific crime of burning live of Christian couple by a mob living in country named Islamic Republic of Pakistan which is receiving billions of aid of US taxpayers.
I would appeal your honor to put pressure on government of Pakistan to end misuse of blasphemy laws against Christian, Ahamadiyyia and other religious minorities and condition US Aid to Pakistan on human rights and repeal of blasphemy laws.
Meanwhile, in America itself, in Oklahoma, Jimmy Stepney, a Muslim, stabbed Jerome Bullock, a Christian, after Stepney had said that Muslims need to “step up” beheadings. According to Koco5 News:
The [police] report went on to say Stepney had been making comments about beheading people.
“We were watching the news,” said Bullock. “He said he felt like more Muslims need to step up to the plate and do certain thing. He was talking about beheading people.”
The severity of the plight of Christians in the Middle East was further underscored by Dr. Alexander Yakovenko, Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, who wrote:
Russia is currently considering the possibility of initiating a draft decision of the UN Human Rights Council on the protection of Christians in the Middle East and North Africa. Russian experts are now working on this document.[…]
The scale of the problems demands the coordination of international efforts to protect Christians in the Middle East.
Further initiatives, new measures and relevant discussions aimed at finding durable solutions in this regard are strongly needed. Of course, we believe that Europe, including the UK, should make its contribution to these efforts, taking into account the Christian roots of the European civilization, which are now often forgotten for the sake of political correctness.[…]
The fate of the region’s religious minorities is of the greatest concern. The mass exodus of Christians, who have been an integral part of the Middle Eastern mosaic for centuries, is particularly troubling.
The rest of November’s roundup of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed by theme and country in alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:
Muslim Attacks on Christian Churches
Bangladesh: Two Christian pastors from the Faith Bible Church of God were arrested for preaching the Gospel to Muslims . They could face two years in prison if convicted for “hurting religious sentiments” and luring Muslims to convert by offering them money. The pastors deny both charges. Police arrested the pastors and 41 other people, including Muslims, after a throng of Muslims disrupted a house meeting. According to a witness: “More than 100 Muslims headed by local Jamaat-e-Islami party members and Muslim clerics gathered at the house and started barking questions at the pastors—why did they propagate Christianity in the locality and convert some of them,” and who gave them permission to preach to Muslims. “The pastors replied that it did not take any permission from any authority to propagate any religion and convert people to any religion. Suddenly the Muslims became apoplectic with rage, tried to pick a fight and started jabbing the pastors’ faces.”
Egypt: Father Timothy Shakar, priest of St. Mina Church in Port Said, confirmed that two homemade bombs were planted near the St. Mina Church but caused no injuries, or losses of life or property. Police searched other churches in the region for more bombs.
Germany: Nine men who had earlier broken into, vandalized, and robbed several Christian churches in the Cologne area—including by stealing money from the collection boxes and liturgical vessels—were caught during a massive raid. Apparently, all of the arrested are German by nationality, but Muslim by background and heritage. Some were also identified as “Salafis”—especially fundamentalist Muslims—connected to international terrorist organizations. Some had even raised hundreds of thousands of Euros from native (and naive) Germans to support overseas “charities,” the proceeds of which actually went to terrorist groups such as ISIS.
Iraq: As cries of “Allahu Akbar” emanated from surrounding mosques, Islamic State militants blew up yet another Christian church — St. George’s Church and its associated nunnery in the city of Mosul — along with other non-Sunni sites. Separately, after breaking the cross from off the dome of the St. Ephrem Church dome (before and after pictures here) and selling its pews and other furnishings, IS transformed the church into a mosque and council seat for the jihadis.
East Jerusalem: Despite constant and ever bolder attacks on a church, police refuse to respond to pleas for help from the Christian congregation. According to Morning Star News, “The attacks, driven by both intent to seize property and opposition to Christianity, have been mounted by young men with ties to Palestinian militants who for more than three months have been trying to force Living Bread Church from its rented building. Church pastor Karen Dunham and others have filed at least eight police reports about the assaults.” The most recent incident took place on November 5, when the gas tank of a car owned by a church volunteer was filled with sugar. On November 2, a car owned by one of the pastor’s relatives was stolen. And on October 16, three American Christians were injured while trying to repair a metal security door: A crowd of Palestinian men attacked them with box cutters, sticks, clubs and pepper spray. According to the church’s attorney, authorities “have their [the assailants’] pictures, they have their names, they even have their national ID numbers, and still they do nothing…. The level of brute force compared to the level of lack of response of the police force there is pretty shocking…. It almost seems like if someone is going to go in and murder her [Dunham], that no one is going to lift a finger.”
Malaysia: Approximately 70 local residents in Petaling Jaya protested the construction of a church. They claimed the growing number of Christian places of worship in the area is part of an attempt to evangelize and convert Muslims to Christianity. An NGO, the local branch of Pertubuhan Sahabat, supported the claims of the Muslims. They argued that there are three churches in the vicinity, although close to 70 percent of the residents in the area are Muslims. According to a spokesman, “Even before the church is built, flyers on Christianity have been distributed to our homes, and this could confuse our children and divert them from the path of Islam.” The vacant plot was previously occupied by squatters, a car park and several food stalls. Another local Muslim added “None of our neighbours are Christians, we can vouch for that… it is an insult to Muslims to allow a church to be built here, but none of our representatives seem to have the time to listen to us.” One demonstrator hurled large rocks at the temporary steel fence around the vacant plot.
Jihadi Slaughter of Christians
Kenya: Members of neighboring Somalia’s Islamic group Al Shabaab—”the Youth”—hijacked a bus carrying 60 passengers in the town of Mandera, near Kenya’s border with Somalia. They singled out and massacred 28 non-Muslims, the overwhelming majority of whom were Christian. According to an eyewitness, “When we got down, passengers were separated according to Somali and non-Somali. The non-Somalis were ordered to read some verses of the holy Koran, and those who failed to read were ordered to lie down. One by one they were shot in the head at point blank range.”
Nigeria: On November 10, a suicide bomb attack on a Christian secondary school as students gathered for morning assembly killed at least 47 people. The Islamic group Boko Haram—meaning: “Western education is forbidden”—is believed to be behind the blast. In a separate incident, Christians from the predominantly Christian city of Mubi in Adamawa state were tortured and killed after Boko Haram took control of the town. Churches and homes were torched throughout the city, which was renamed Madinat al-Islam, or “the City of Islam.” In yet another separate incident, Boko Haram militants raided the mostly Christian town of Shani. According to a resident speaking to Reuters, “They rode on motorcycles and were more than 30 men. They started throwing bombs into houses… then the Boko Haram fired shots at people fleeing. They set ablaze the police station, houses and a telecom mast… I saw people fleeing, some bodies on the ground.” Reuters continues: “The Sunni jihadist movement is fighting to revive a medieval Islamic caliphate in Nigeria’s north.”
Pakistani Persecution
A few days after the Christian couple, mentioned earlier, was burned alive, a 35-year-old Christian father of five known as “Mithu” was arrested on false charges by police and tortured to death in prison. According to the deceased’s brother-in-law: “It was a fake allegation, because the raiding party failed to recover any contraband from Mithu’s person and his house… On the morning of Nov. 22, we were informed by Ilyas Gill, a local councilor, that Mithu had died in police custody because of heart failure…. Young Christian men are made scapegoats to show police performance while the real culprits are carrying out their illegal activities right under the police’s nose.” Morning Star News adds: “Area police routinely round up young, impoverished Christians on false charges of drug peddling and bootlegging, and then force their families to pay heavy bribes in return for their release… family elders had seen signs of torture on the body…”
Christian families in a Punjabi village were forced to flee after a Christian man married a Muslim woman—an act forbidden by Islamic law. According to the Pakistani report, “The Muslims in this village became enraged when this occurred and began threatening them…. When the news of the marriage was learned, the Muslims in Sahiwal attacked Shahab’s [the Christian husband’s] family as well as other Christian families in the village. The Muslims demanded that Ruksana [the Muslim wife] be returned immediately, according to Sharia which prohibits Muslim women from marrying a man from another religion…. the entire Muslim community was threatening to kill Shahab’s father and all of the village’s Christians…. The Christians’ pleas for help from the local police were all in vain.”
And Qaiser Ayub, a 40-year-old professor of Christian background, was arrested and charged with insulting Islam’s prophet Muhammad. The computer science professor had been a fugitive avoiding the police since 2011, when he was first accused of having written blasphemous comments on his blog.
Dhimmitude: Generic Contempt and Hostility
Denmark: In an apparent replication of the Islamic world’s modus operandi, Muslim refugees in the European nation are persecuting Christian refugees. According to 10news.dk, “Christian asylum seekers are repeatedly exposed to everything from harassment to threats and physical abuse by other refugees in the asylum centers, simply because they have converted from Islam to Christianity.” According to Niels Eriksen Nyman, who led the study, “There are certainly many more cases around the country than the ones we hear about in the church. I hate to say it, but I’m afraid that on some of the asylum centers there are some very unhealthy control mechanisms when the staff turns their back… I refuse to support Islamophobia, but we have a serious problem here.” Two recent examples: “An eight year old Christian at the Center Sandholm was bullied and beaten by the larger Arab boys on their way to school. Now the boy nolonger [sic] dares to go to school. On the island Bornholm, somebody had tampered with a Christian asylum seeker’s bike so that he crashed and broke both hands.”
Egypt: The Islamic State called on its followers to take the jihad to Egypt. Abu Mus’ab al-Maqdisi, a leader in the Islamic State, said in a statement titled “Advice to Egypt’s Mujahidin” that “It is necessary to take the battle to Cairo, until the Sinai is safeguarded from the apostates [reference to Egyptian government] and becomes a rear base [qaeda] from which to expand the jihad.” He also called on the jihadis in Egypt to “target the Copts,” the nation’s indigenous, Christian minority: “For targeting them, following them, and killing them is one of the main ways to serve the cause of our virtuous male and female hostages of the tyrants.”
Iraq: Christian homes in Tel Isqof were looted by Kurds who, after fighting the Islamic State, took control of the area on August 17. According to Agenzia Fides, “The city of Tel Isqof was occupied on August 7 by jihadist militias who already in June had conquered Mosul. Faced with the advancing of jihadists, the civilian population, mainly Christians, had fled to the autonomous Region of Iraqi Kurdistan, leaving the city deserted. Ten days later [on August 17], with a counter-offensive the Kurdish Peshmerga had regained control of the city. But it is precisely since then that [Christian] residents periodically return to the city to check the status of their homes, and acknowledge that the doors of a growing number of homes and businesses have been forced and property looted: money and jewelry, technical equipment and electronic instruments.” As in the Islamic State, most Kurds are Sunni Muslims.
Islamic State: IS issued a document breaking down the purchase prices of Christian and Yazidi women being sold as sex-slaves. Apparently these enslaved unfortunates are priced based on age— the youngest being the most expensive. The breakdown is as follows (with USD equivalency in brackets): 40-50 years old: 50,000 dinars [$43]; 30-40 years old: 75,000 dinars [$64]; 20-30 years old: 100,000 dinars [$86]; 10-20 years old: 150,000 dinars [$129]; 9 years old: 200,000 dinars [$172].
Spain: Real Madrid, a professional football (soccer) team, stripped the traditional Christian cross from its club crest as part of a deal with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. “It is believed the European champions’ new crest, minus the Christian cross, was created so as not to offend Muslim sensibilities in the United Arab Emirates, where a marketing drive will take place,” wrote the Telegraph. Club president Florentino Perez said, “This agreement will help the club to keep conquering the hearts of followers in the United Arab Emirates.”
Syria: As of November, Raqqa, which once had approximately 1,500 Christian families, had only 23 Christian families remaining in it—the others were driven out or killed by the Islamic State. Those few remaining were unable to leave the city for lack of resources or for reasons of age and health. On November 16 they were told that they must pay $535, an exorbitant sum (as seen above, human sex-slaves are being sold for as little as $43). “In all likelihood Christian families, impoverished by the war, will not be able to pay the tax and will have to leave their homes” or convert to Islam, as many elderly, debilitated Christians unable to flee have already done.
About this Series
The persecution of Christians in the Islamic world has become endemic. Accordingly, “Muslim Persecution of Christians” was developed to collate some—by no means all—of the instances of persecution that surface each month. It serves two purposes:
1) To document that which the mainstream media does not: the habitual, if not chronic, persecution of Christians.
2) To show that such persecution is not “random,” but systematic and interrelated—that it is rooted in a worldview inspired by Islamic Sharia.
Accordingly, whatever the anecdote of persecution, it typically fits under a specific theme, including hatred for churches and other Christian symbols; apostasy, blasphemy, and proselytism laws that criminalize and sometimes punish with death those who “offend” Islam; sexual abuse of Christian women; forced conversions to Islam; theft and plunder in lieu of jizya (financial tribute expected from non-Muslims); overall expectations for Christians to behave like cowed dhimmis, or third-class, “tolerated” citizens; and simple violence and murder. Sometimes it is a combination thereof.
Because these accounts of persecution span different ethnicities, languages, and locales—from Morocco in the West, to Indonesia in the East—it should be clear that one thing alone binds them: Islam—whether the strict application of Islamic Sharia law, or the supremacist culture born of it.

I wonder if you know how many innocent Muslims were killed by the World Police Monster (America) and the Israeli occupation under the name of Terrorism Fighting in most of the countries you wrote about!?

“I wonder if you know how many ‘innocent’ muslims were killed by the World Police Monster America) and the Israeli occupation under the name of Terrorism Fighting in most of the countries you wrote about” you say? The short answer is, apparently not enough. Now stop whining you sniveling, “oh poor muslim me,” muzzrat pussy.
Fisal Younis says
Are there any other sick racist assholes out there? I know there are many!
James Wherry says
Islamic international law and military law (Siyar) recognizes that collateral casualties during time of war are not crimes or murders. In point of fact, Islam has recognized this for 1,200+ years. See al-Siyar al-Shaybani, in translation or in the original, in which al-Shaybani is asked whether you can target and shoot arrows at Infidels, if they are using Muslim children as human shields. “Yes you can,” he replies, “But you must not aim at the children.” If you hit them, that is a terrible sadness, but not a crime or murder. You should study Islam sometime. It might clear up these confusions you have.
katertaif says
The same old tired response. ALL such killing in the name of religion is wrong.
Bubba Doright says
Fisal….Collateral killing of civilians during the execution of battle during wartime does not count. However, terrorizing of the subdued civilian population of an occupied country does count. You should get a brain and use it. In both cases the U.S. is by and far way more careful and unblemished than any Muslim country in the execution of war. Wake up from your universal Muslim delusions. Your religion is so obviously the religion of whiner babies that wish that they were Jews but aren’t. Islam is the r in r/K selection theory and in the way you use your brain it is obvious.
James Wherry says
Ah, but at least you do not deny the facts of the criminal acts by Muslims in the name of Islam. Thank you, Mr. Younis.
But let’s take a look at the facts, Fisal: the U.S. has targeted NO ONE for blaspheming the Bible or for holding religious views. In the early ’80’s, the U.S. Your efforts at “misdirection” are pointless, on this webpage, where we know better. But let’s stroll down memory lane, shall we?
* In 1983, Marine Corps went in to Lebanon to try to stop the Lebanese Civil War as part of a UN Peacekeeping Operation. The PLO had entered that nation and attacks Muslims and Christians alike by running a mafia-style kidnapping ring. Violence later erupted, all over Lebanon, thanks to Muslims. The U.S. Embassy was bombed in April of that year and then the U.S. Marine Corps barracks were bombed in October, 1983. 299 American and French service members lost their lives. We were trying to stop Muslims from murdering Muslims.
* In 1988, COL (USMC) William F. Higgins went in, years later, to serve as a U.N. observer. He was kidnapped in that year and later brutally tortured and murdered by Hezbollah agents. His body was dumped on the streets in 1990.
* In 1991, a Muslim dictator invaded a Muslim country (Kuwait) and prepared to advance into Sa’udi Arabia. We went in and kicked him out.
* In 1993, we went into Somalia to – you guessed it – stop Muslims from murdering other Muslims. We got Blackhawk Down for our troubles.
* In 2001, we liberated Afghanistan from Muslims who were busy murdering fellow Muslims.
* In 2003, we took down that dictator and liberated an over-whelmingly Muslim nation of Iraq – we’ve now been repaid by Shi’ite violence on Sun’ni’s and Sun’ni violence on Christians.
* In 2010, we did stand up to Qadaffi’s civil war with – yes, yes, yes – other Muslims. We stopped his murders, but not their’s. I was convinced then, as I am now, that involving ourselves with one more Muslim civil war was a very, very bad idea.
* We helped establish the no-fly zone in Kurdistan and prevent the furtherance of the Iraqi genocide of the Kurds. We support AMISOM which has helped Somalia Muslims take back their country. We support the efforts in Muslim nations in North Africa to fight back against Muslim Boko Harem kidnapping, raping and murdering other Muslims.
At no time did we colonize any nation, exploit their resources with exclusive rights contracts with those nations – in point of fact, we’ve made Iraq “safer for Chinese oil exploration!” Fisal, you are desperately trying to conjure up allegations against the United States to cover the evil acts done by Muslims in the name of Islam and because you are so ashamed that your own people could not stop the tyrants and terrorists. I sympathize with your desparation, but not your statements.
Time for you to thank America and work to end the evil being done in your name by the members of your own faith.

Fisal, apparently you still have trouble grasping the notion of political discourse: you’re supposed to actually ANSWER what your opponents are saying. Instead, you use misdirection and try to change the subject. I would bet you are an Iranian, since this seems to be even more common in their own dialogue.
The “good news” for me is that you are the reason Islam will never change. You will continue the murderous struggle between Shi’ites and Sun’ni’s because you deny the problem.
I’m proud to have gone into Baghdad in 2003 and shaken hands with Shi’ites who warmly welcomed me, there. I”m just as proud to have returned to Iraq in 2008-2009 and worked with Muslims in Mosul and Kirkuk to secure their futures. I doubt you’ve done a damn thing for Americans or any non-Muslim who you derisively call “Kafir” or “Infidels,” as if you could judge me or my relationship with God. Too bad the Shi’ite government of Nouri al-Maliki threw away a chance at Shi’ite/Sun’ni reconciliation, but at least I gave them a choice.
By contrast, we’re left in Syria with a Shity government that rapes boys and men to keep their Sun’ni families in line and Sun’ni insurgents who murder all who will not join them, including men, women and the elderly.
Fisal Younis says
James, Apparently you have lost your bet that reflects your ignorance of the Arab culture. My name is never an Iranian. I am an Egyptian Muslim.
Saddam invaded Kuwait. That is a fact. An international coalition went to liberate it. My Army (the Egyptian) did the most courageous role in this liberation when they – the forces on the ground – confronted the forces of Saddam while the Americans and the Europeans were just throwing missiles and rockets from a far distance. Anyway, Saddam was kicked out of Kuwait. That is a fact! OK, Why on earth did you and your fellow men invade Iraq!? Could you find any mass-destruction weapons!? You and your colleagues are no more than robots taking orders from some fanatic psychic people like Bush who said that he was sent by God to liberate Iraq and topple down Saddam !! Saddam killed 150 people in Kurdistan and you killed thousands of Iraqis in return!!
James Wherry says
Actually, recent revelations suggest we did find 10,000 WMD, after the Iraq War of 2003.
But answer me a BETTER question: why were we imposing sanctions that killed 50,000 Iraqi children every year, according to UNICEF? Until 1995, there WERE WMD, and then Saddam’s sons-in-law came forward and ratted him out. So, after that???
The reason was that we intercepted Saddams’ phone calls to his lackeys about WMD. He talked about them and planned them as if they still existed. Whether to fool Iran, I do not know, but the man dug his own sons graves. (Frankly, they deserved it, too. Their “rape contest” was up to 1,200 v. 1,400 when they were put down like the wild dogs they are.) But American made the best decision with the INTEL it had, just like everyone else.
I did, however, support the invasion with a “quick in/quick out” strategy. We did NOT need to be there past January, 2005, when the Iraqis voted on their constitution. Sorry: I was one of the U.S. Soldiers hurt by the failure of our politicians to get the Iraqi government working again. The “de-Bathification” campaign was a dumb idea as executed.
NEVER, EVER, EVER tell me that Saddam Hussein killed 150 people, Fisal! You can burn in a very large fire if you EVER try to give me tha garbage! No: I’ve BEEN to Kurdistan to several of their prisons. These were former “forts” built by the Soviets for Saddam Hussein. In the basement were countless shoes from the women and children that Saddam murdered in his genocide. I WORKED with the Soldiers who had to exume Saddam’s mass graves.
In short, sure, America makes mistakes, but Saddam was yet another Muslim murdering Muslims. Why didn’t YOU folks stop him?
Fisal Younis says
Concerning your doubt of me not doing anything for Americans or others, just for your information, I was a Fulbright Nominee 2007 – 2008. If you have ever heard of Fulbright, you would understand what I mean.
Fisal Younis says
And finally, concerning your supposition that I should ANSWER my opponents questions, I would say that I have NO OPPONENTS and I have all the right NOT to answer any dumb questions! My answer to any dumb questioner is; “Go back to school, buddy and get enlightened”
James Wherry says
In this political debate, we are opponents. Telling me to “go back to school” is a little pointless: I’ve been and I’ve lived the school of life and experience in the middle east, Africa and elsewhere. If you were a Fulbright Nominee in 2007, that’s great. I applied in 1987. There’s just a little bit of experience difference between the two of us.

Who is the TERRORIST !?
* According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census (1894), “The
Indian wars under the government of the United States have been more than 40 in number. They have cost the lives of about 19,000 white men, women and children, including those killed in individual combats, and the lives of about 30,000 Indians. The actual number of killed and wounded Indians must be very much higher than the given… Fifty percent additional would be a safe estimate…”
* A database compiled in the late 1990s put the figure for the
transatlantic slave trade at more than 11 million people. For a long time, an accepted figure was 15 million, although this has in recent years been revised down. Estimates by Patrick Manning are that about 12 million slaves entered the Atlantic trade between the 16th and 19th century, but about 1.5 million died on board ship. About 10.5 million slaves arrived in the Americas.
* The total number of military and civilian casualties in World War I was over 37 million: over 16 million deaths and 20 million wounded, ranking it among the deadliest conflicts in human history.
* World War II fatality statistics vary, with estimates of total dead ranging from 50 million to more than 80 million.[1] The sources
cited in this article document an estimated death toll in World War II that range from approximately 60 to 85 million, making it the deadliest war in world history in absolute terms of total dead but not in terms of deaths relative to the world population. The higher figure of 85 million includes deaths from war-related disease and famine. Civilians killed totaled from 38 to 55 million, including 19 to 25 million from war-related disease and famine. Total military dead: from 22 to 25 million, including deaths in captivity of about 5 million prisoners of war.
* The real mortality of the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan will never be known. The destruction and overwhelming chaos made orderly counting impossible. It is not unlikely that the estimates of killed and wounded in Hiroshima (150,000) and Nagasaki (75,000) are over conservative. ·
* … On Sept. 10, 1972, the United States employed its veto for the second time—to shield Israel.’ That veto, as it turned out, signalled the start of a cynical policy to use the U.S. veto repeatedly to shield Israel from international criticism, censure and sanctions. Before this practice stopped 18 years later, Washington used its veto 29 times to shield Israel from critical draft resolutions. This constituted nearly half of the total of 69 U.S. vetoes cast since the founding of the U.N. The Soviet Union cast 115 vetoes during the same period. The initial 1972 veto to protect Israel was cast by George Bush in his capacity as U.S. ambassador to the world body. Ironically, it was Bush as president who stopped the use of the veto to shield Israel 18 years later. The last such veto was cast on May 31, 1990, killing a resolution approved by all 14 other council members to send a U.N. mission to study Israeli abuses of Palestinians in the occupied territories.
* In a 2004 BBC article entitled “Al-Qaeda’s origins and links”, the BBC wrote: “During the anti-Soviet jihad Bin Laden and his fighters received American and Saudi funding. Some analysts believe Bin Laden himself had security training from the CIA.” Robin Cook, Foreign Secretary in the UK from 1997–2001, believed the CIA had provided arms to the Arab Mujahideen, including Osama bin Laden, writing, “Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan.” His source for this is unclear.
* War and occupation directly and indirectly claimed the lives
of about a half-million Iraqis from 2003 to 2011, according to a groundbreaking survey of 1,960 Iraqi households. The violence peaked in 2006 and 2007, say public health experts who were part of the study.
* Thank you America for being the world’s greatest monster Terrorist in the modern times! I mean the government and the policy makers, not the people, of course!!

Again, you can’t answer an argument, but have to use “misdirection” to try and change the subject. This is a symptom and cause of Intellectual Dishonesty.
Before I answer you, let ME back up and explain something: I’m an international and military lawyer who has deployed to Iraq and Djibouti, both predominantly Muslim nations. I was welcomed into all three nations by the people there. I do not hold a view that says that the average Muslim is a terrorist, nor do I have to.
Quite frankly, the Koran contains 109 verses that call for Muslims to “hate” non-Muslims and to “Kiill the Infidels, when you are able.” Those verses are enough to make the Koran a hate crime in most European nations. They are the very verses that Muslim terrorists use to justify what is going on in Pakistan, Bangledesh, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, etc.
But within 100 years of the death of Muhammad, most Muslims had found ways to ameliorate those verses and Su’fi al-Islamyiah flourished. I make it a point to remind my friends that there actually WERE 2 million Armenian Christians living in the Turkish part of the Ottman Empire in 1915. There were Jewish communities flourishing in Turkey until the 1934 pogroms. Baghdad was 20% Jewish until the 1947-48 pogroms in 22 Arab nations in which Muslims drove Jews out of lands they had lived in since before the coming of the Arabs. Medieval Islam was “tolerant,” at least compared to the intolerance of the West, in the 8th Century.
There certainly are exceptions to the so-called “tolerance” of Islam. Muslim scholars did say that non-Muslims were to be “humiliated” when paying the jizya. One of your Iranian Shahs in the 1800’s DID massacre every single monk at the monestary outside of Mosul, Iraq and I’ve visited it. History is repleat with Muslims sacking and looting some Churches. But an interesting archaelogical find was a recently-excavated city in Afghanistan that shows Buddhist Temples, Christian Churches and Islamic Mosques side by side with each other, prior to the coming of Hulagu and the Kahn’s armies.
However, this year does mark the 100th anniversary of “Muslims Acting Badly.” The Sultan DID refuse to treat non-Muslims equally and 2 million Armenian Christians were murdered by Muslims. Jews were driven out of Turkey in the pogroms, along wiht 800,000 Jews eventually driven out of predominantly-Muslim countries, PRIOR to the creation of the State of Israel. The Jewish community of Baghdad IS dead.
A college student did just receive a 3-year prison sentence for posting online that he was an atheist. A liberal blogger IS being tortured with 1,000 lashes for starting a liberal online blog. Pakistan’s laws state the a non-Muslim cannot be the President of Pakistan because no non-Muslim can be “rightly-guided.”
Boko Harem is invading villages in Nigeria and massacring non-Muslims. Al-Shebaab is at war in Somalia with everyone else, in the name of Islam. ISIS is murdering non-Muslims in Syria nad Iraq. Pakistan has seen an explosion of attacks and murders of non-Muslims in Pakistan including Hindus, Christians, Atheists and the Ahmadi. In Bangledesh, radicalized rural peasants are attacking the nomadic Baul players. Egyptians are attacking Su’fi Mosques and Christian churches. In Libya, the terrorists have murdered Coptic Christians living there and have now kidnapped several dozen men to murder. Throughout the Islamic world, you can caterwall from the minerate of a mosque, but you dare not preach the gospel of Jesus.
These days, what I tend to say is that Muslim law originally was head and shoulders above western law in the 8th century, but while the rest of the world has embraced Islamic principles (justice, care for the poor, and the idea that no man is above the law), Muslims have refused to follow the principles of Islam to their logical conclusions.
If you don’t think Islam has a serious problem, you’re the cause of the continuation of that problem, Fisal.
Fisal Younis says
James, you are a LAWYER!! hhhhh this explains everything. I mean your use of the words; “misdirection” and “Intellectual Dishonesty” !! As an international lawyer, I would like to ask you: Does international law authorize America to invade Iraq on false allegations? Does international law allow any country to have prisons and torture camps on another country’s land, like in Guatemala and Abu Ghraib in Iraq? Why do you like to ask questions all the time and refuse to answer any questions!? Who put America as the God-guard of international peace? What does the (American) VETO have to do with international law!?? hhhhhhhh
The Qura’an! Ah, yes you were counting the “hate” verses!! But Have you counted the peace, mercy, love and tolerance verses!? have you ever read the Qura’an!? I mean the interpretations!? Do you know the context in which these verses are read and understood!? Have you read any reliable resources about Prophet Muhammad and his life!? I would advise you to go back to school and enroll in some Comparative Religions course!!
To ANSWER you (because you are saying I don’t answer any questions, I would say:
I believe Islam has NO Problem. However, I think SOME Muslims Have a problem understanding Islam.
If YOU and all Non-Muslims still think ISLAM (and not some Muslims) has a serious problem, then you and they are the cause of the continuation of that problem, James!
James Wherry says
Fisal, isn’t it a little hard to know that your INTEL is “bad,” until you’ve actually tested it? Russia and France have both admitted they had the same INTEL. And wasn’t this the same INTEL that the world community used to justify murderous sanctions?
No, what authorized us was the UN Security Council’s resolution authorizing nations to take “all measures” to ensure Saddam did not have WMD.
Dude, I helped set up Camp Cropper (not Abu Ghraib). Yes, the Geneva Conventions DO authroize us to set up prisons and jails. We did so at Nuremberg. The REAL problem was that we didn’t set up ENOUGH. With the de-Ba’athification campaign, the Iraqi police went home and went to bed. International law in fact OBLIGATED us to work to restore order.
I am a severe critic of our refusal to impose marshal law. The idea was “Jim, all those Muslims would be angry at us, if we started being their judge and jury.” The truth is nothing of the sort: Muslims LIKE justice and rules and their enforcement. Frankly, when the 51 rules were published by the occupying authority we had Iraqis that came to us and said, “FINALLY! Now we know what the rules are! What took you people so long.” In short, a bigotted view of Muslims prevented us from doing what was necessary. My Soldiers suffered along with the Iraqi people, as a result.
Sorry, Fasil: I have no interest in being “Team America: World Police.” I am grateful that President Obama is staying out of the Syrian Civil War. It was a BAD mistake to get involved in the Libyan one.
My only problem with the “hate” verses is how they are being used, today. Yes, you have as much of a problem as Catholicism did in the 8th century. If you came to me during the Spanish Inquisition and said that the Roman Catholics are a “cult,” I would have agreed with you. I might even have converted to Islam, during that period of time, though I am QUITE happy with not being either a Trinitarian OR a Muslim. I hold Islam to the same standard. The world is rife with examples of “Muslims Acting Badly” and an awful lot of them refusing to do anything about it.
Since you’re in Egypt, I’m sure you’re just as familiar as I am with the multitude of abuses of Christians from burning their Churches, to attacking them, to spray painting crosses on their buildings, just like Stars of David being spray painted on Jewish homes in Nazi Germany. Again, I hold Islam to the same standard.
But “who is Islam?” Is it what Muhammad once intended? Is is the few Muslims who tried to intervene when an Uncle and his Nephew were being chased down by a crowd in Morsi’s Egypt, or is Islam the crowd that warned the other Muslims not to intervene in their attempted lynching? Is it the crowd of 1,200 Pakistanis who took a Christian man and woman on the claim that they desecrated a Koran and threw them in a kiln to be burned alive? She was 4 months pregnant and had four children and no, no one in their right minds would desecrate a Koran in Pakistan, knowing the consequences.
You do FoxNews a dis-service: do you ever watch them? In the aftermath of Charlie Hebdo, they had on many moderate Muslims who said that, “Yes, WE have a problem and we have not dealt with it.”
Here’s an example of honesty from a Muslim who has no intention of converting from Islam:
Muslims Shouldn’t Pray to Defeat Non-Muslims

Now, let’s address your efforts at misdirection, shall we, Fisal? And I’m going to be brief.
1. Indian Wars. Yes, like all the other nations in the world, the United States emerged from “the era of conquest.” It an be disputed whether the Indians actually had a claim to land they occassionally tracked through, but the Indians considered it their land. American Indians, however, also engaged in conquest: while the Sioux Indians demand back “their land” around Mt. Rushmore, they had taken it in conquest, only 100 years before they lost it to us – 150 years ago. So who’s land was it?
More to the point, however, Muslims used militay conquest during Muhammad’s life and after the death of Muhammad to snap up land in their centuries-old Jihad. What’s your point? Are you going to argue that Muslims committed crimes with their thousands and thousands of attacks, pillaging, murdering and selling captives into slavery?
Why don’t we agree that today, no one does this?
2. Slavery. Oh, you can FORGET this one. Every single nation in the world in 1776 practiced slavery. The Koran approves of it and says captives can be taken and sold into slavery. Is the Koran an evil book? I hear from black Americans that NO slavery can be considered benevolent or benign. Muslim corsairs plied the waterways between Fance and England, attacking, capturing and enslaving non-Muslim Europeans.
The University of Iowa College of Law actually has some great books on the MUSLIM origin of black slavery! It was actually Muslims who tried to claim that black people were ordained to be slaves. Some even went so far as to REMOVE from the Hadiths the final injunction of Muhammad that “there is neither black nor white” in Islam or that black people are not better than red-skinned (pink) people and vice versa.” Muslims routinely kept Muslim converts as slaves, if they were black, regardless of Muhammad’s injunction that this could not be. Muslims were the ones who came up with the idea that, when Noah said, “Cursed be Canaan” that he was referring to black people. No joke: I always assumed it was Christians, yet it was not.
The brutality of Muslims to slaves is well documented. The European slaves were marched through the Sahara to break them with heat and sun and thirst. I’m QUITE familiar with the black slave uprisings in Baghdad in the first Caliphate, as desperate black men and women tried to get back to their beloved Africa. They were whipped, beaten, raped and murdered. Women were forced to be concubines.
Shall we also agree that Islam and America came out of a period of slavery, as well, Hmmmmmmmmm? Perhaps throw in a little Karl Marx, yes?
3 & 4: We didn’t start WWI or WWII? What’s your point? You Muslims were commanded to fight against us Infidels until we pay the slave tax (blood money for our lives) and “submit” to you and your religion. After WWI, America spent its own money to help fix Germany. Future President Herbert Hoover helped lead those efforts. After WWII, we did the same thing. Have you Muslims EVER paid to fix the damage you’ve done in 1,300 years and then LEFT the nation you conquered?
5. Nukes. I am NOT a fan. I dislike both nuclear weapons because I don’t regard either city as “lawful military targets:” I would have hit Tokoyo and probably caused 100X’s the number of deaths, but it would have been a far more lawful target.
I also don’t like the firebombing of Dresden because that was truly a “demonstration attack” to show Germany what we could do. We did, however, issue notices to all three cities of what was coming, and in writing from leaflets dropped overhead.
However, our use of nuclear weapons made it clear to Japan: there were 70 million Japanese in the world, and if there had to be 70 million fewer Japanese for us to be left alone to live in peace, that’s what would happen. Human rights are never comparative, but compared to the atrocities that happened by Japan, I don’t feel an apology is in order. And both of those bombs were little more than conventional weapons, compared to today’s nukes.
6. Yes, we support Israel. Maybe you should have accepted the UN Security Council resolution creating it, in 1947, and not tried a criminal attack on Israel and then repeated efforts to destroy it and kill Jews. MAYBE you should not have spent the twenties and thirties driving 800,000 Jews out of their homes in the middle east, too!
7. Yes, we supported the Mujahadeen against the Russians. So did I. We did not recognize the MUSLIM Taliban government, but did give them ten’s of millions of dollars for eradicating opium production. Hindsight is not foresight.
8. The Iraq War claimed few lives: the Iraqi Republican Guard mostly melted away, put on civilian clothes and went home. Don’t blame me that YOU MUSLIMS started coming over to make Jihad – with the help of Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Libya and other nations. Perhaps you should take a good look in the mirror, Fisal.
Sorry, but most of these laughably crude efforts to condemn the USA were easily answered in the recent documentary “What Would the World Look Like if America Never Existed?” by Creator Dinesh D’Souza. *Yawn* This was easy. Can we play, again?

99.99% of Jews have moved out of EVERY Muslim country. (To Israel and elsewhere.) Now is the time to evacuate all the Christians. Without civilized humans as scapegoats, these countries can go all the way down and eat themselves alive, murdering their own every day.

James Wherry says
You have my sympathy, but not my support: the solution is NOT to evacuate the Jews from Europe, the Christians from the Middle East, or the Homosexuals from Mexico: the time has come to confront the violence of bigotry and to demand an end to it.

Mislam is an incurable disease. Unfortunately it is inherited. If it is not genetic, the cure is to make orphans and raise them from birth. (But who has resources for that?) If it is genetic, then the orphans have to go away too, regardless. “… confront … and demand” But the only language understood is death.
James Wherry says
Soooooooooooo, if I believe that Muslims are “blaspheming” by denying that Jesus Christ is the Lord God Almighty, does this mean I get to kill them…..?
