Less than 10 days after two churches in Pakistan were attacked by Islamic suicide bombers attacked two churches in Pakistan, killing at least 17 people wounding 70 others, another church was recently attacked. On March 24, around 2 p.m. two assailants on motorbikes opened fire on the main gates of the church and Christian school in Lahore. The school had just closed half an hour earlier and several students were present outdoors. Police were present, causing the attackers to ride off. Two passersby were injured in the crossfire.
Despite these ongoing church attacks, Christians make for less than 1% of Pakistan’s Muslim-majority population.
