In one of Mosul’s streets, members of the Islamic State tied a man to an electric pole and pasted on his torso a sign that reads: “False Witness.”
According to Ankawa, eyewitnesses said that IS members had tied the man to an electric pole in the Bab Toub neighborhood in downtown Mosul because he had lied to the Islamic State regarding the ownership of a bottle of cooking gas left behind by fleeing Christians. The man was detained and the bottle confiscated as it was allegedly part of the booty belonging to the Islamic State.
Because he is Muslim, even though he tried to deceive the Islamic State by taking its “well earned booty,” the man received a relatively light sentence. As for the countless “fleeing Christians” — not to mention the many who died and the dozens of churches destroyed in Iraq at the hands of IS and earlier — their great and unpardonable crime was simply to be Christian, such as the four children who got beheaded for refusing to recant Christ.
A bottle of cooking gas? That’s what the Deash is concerned about these days? Perhaps, since they produce absolutely nothing except atrocity videos and since the price of oil is so low, it would be an excellent idea to shut off their revenue stream for once and for all and let their caliphate implode.
